Collision repair in Clymer, from your claim to your keys

Being in a wreck is stressful enough. We handle everything from your insurance company to the tow and the rental, and our Gold Class technicians find the damage you can't see before they fix the damage you can.

Crash course: how a repair works at 553

  1. Call your insurance company to report the damage as soon as you can, and get a claim number.
  2. Call 553 Auto Body to schedule an estimate. Plan on about an hour with your car at the shop, sometimes longer for heavier damage.
  3. Once we've looked over the damage and written the estimate, we order the parts your car needs.
  4. We set the date your repair begins.
  5. With your car in the shop, we take the damaged area apart to look for anything that wasn't visible from outside.
  6. We get your insurance company's approval to finish the repairs.
  7. We keep you posted on our progress the whole way through.
  8. You get your car back as good as new, maybe better.

Gold Class means every tech trains, every year

553 Auto Body is an I-CAR Gold Class collision repair business, which means each technician involved in collision repair takes ongoing training every year on new vehicle technology and current repair techniques. Only about 15 percent of collision shops reach Gold Class.

Gold Class shops are trained to fix your vehicle right: what can be repaired, what has to be replaced, and how to find the hidden damage you may not know is there.

Questions after a wreck

Do I have to pay for my repair up front?

No. We'll ask to hold the insurance check you received until the repair is finished, and any deductible or out-of-pocket cost is due when you pick up your car. We can also arrange for your insurance company to pay us directly.

My insurance company already wrote an estimate. Can I still use 553?

Yes. You have the right to choose any repair shop, even one your insurer doesn't mention. We review their estimate and send a supplement for anything we find once the car is apart.

Can I get a quote over the phone?

No, because the damage you can't see is usually what matters. Schedule an estimate and plan on about an hour with your car at the shop, sometimes longer for heavier damage.

My car needs towed. Can you help?

Yes. We work with several tow companies in the area and can have your car brought straight to the shop.

Will I have a car while mine is being fixed?

Yes. We work closely with Enterprise, and once you tell us you need a rental they'll meet you here when you drop your car off. When you pick yours up, leave the rental with us.

Which insurance companies do you work with?

Every one of them, since the choice of shop is yours. The insurers we work with most: to confirm with the shop

Do you do rust repair?

No. Our technicians are capable of it, but rust repair and patching isn't a service we offer at 553.

Schedule your estimate

Estimates are by appointment, Monday to Friday, and we can't quote over the phone. Call us, or send the basics and the front desk will call you back.
